Interested in different formats?

If you are an avid Magic player like i am then you know that always playing the same way can getting a little old. As such, we seek to spice it up a bit by messing around with the rules. This results in the formation of new formats for playing the game. Some commonly known formats are Two-Headed Giant, Elder Dragon Highlander, and Chaos. I personally enjoy Two-Headed and Chaos on many occassions. But have you ever heard of Sudden Death? Or Frontier Magic? Maybe you've heard of Respawn Magic. No? If you haven't then you need to get with the program (only if you haven't heard of respawn. It's understandable not to have heard Frontier or sudden death.). Lets take a look at two of these formats, in particular, Sudden Death and Respawn Magic.

Sudden Death is more fast paced then an average game. Helps to make the game more exciting and unstable. Lets look at the rules then:
1. Each player starts the game with a 5 card hand and 10 life.
2. For your draw step, you draw 3 cards instead of 1.
3. Mana Drop- You are allowed to play any amount of lands on your turn.

Hmmm...
Sounds fun, right?
The whole mana drop thing allows you to get things out incredibly fast so that you can start hitting your opponent as soon as possible and watch your deck go off like a firecracker if its based on a combo. Since you are playing more than 1 land a turn, the 3 card draw is necessary to refuel you so you can keep on doing what the deck was intended to do.

Next is Respawn Magic. Obviously intended for multiplayer.
1.You can join in to the game at any time with any deck.
2.If you've been eliminated, then you can rejoin the game instantly or later with the same deck or a different one.
3.When you join or rejoin, then you immediately take 3 turns. In these 3 turns, you are in a "new player bubble" where nothing you do can affect the game outside the bubble or other bubbles. Likewise, the game outside your bubble cannot affect you or your field. After your 3rd turn in the bubble, you are back into the regular game.

When I first heard about this, I was so excited to try it out with my friends. Big Success!

Now for the Frontier Magic format... Rules are to numerous for me to even care to try posting. So if you want to learn more about it then you will have to look it up. Let me tell you that it is well worth the effort!

Now go forth and and play MAGIC!!!!
I also recommend trying a respawn chaos match. Loads of fun!

FINALLY!!!

The new episode 9 of Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya finally breaks the time loop arc that has been recurring in the past 7-8 episodes. Now we can hopefully expect some good old fashioned Haruhi antics in the episodes to come.

New Haruhi Suzumiya

The last three/four episodes of haruhi have been practically the same episode with slight changes. While i understand what they are doing, i really want something new to happen and for them to get out of their endless time loop. All i have to say is poor Yuki, having to go through all that while remembering every day thats gone by in this time loop.

edit for my decks

I recently edited two of my MTG decks, both of them quite infamous amongst my group of players. The white enchantment deck has been improved drastically in my opinion while my blue deck that uses your own creatures against u has been put back up to a 60 card deck from a 46 card deck. The blue deck shrunk drastically due to me selling and/or trading a decent amount of cards from it and is now back to its original size. I will be able to test these decks against my friend matt tomorrow.

Speaking of Matt, i would like to thank him for his shout out on his blog for my blog. While i don't know how he did that link thingy with the word "here", i can say to go visit his blog at www.iminchargeofmalaysia.blogspot.com

M10 Prerelease

Aren't you all excited? The first core set in MTG that has new cards! Even with the cards that are being reprinted, i can't wait to get my hands on them. This core set is surging with powerful classics and new cards to replace those that made our decks what they are. Well now, our decks just got some more kick in its overall design. And judging from the cards previewed, red in standard is going to make a hefty comeback!

Payback...maybe?

Tomorrow, July 7th, happens to be Bungie Day! All day long they will have up a playlist where you can go head to head with bungie staff members. If you win, then congratulations you get recon armor. This is not the reason i am excited for tomorrow though. While i truly have to thank Bungie for all their hard work and excellent games that they have produced that i enjoy playing thoroughly and surely without the halo series, i would not have the respect as a competetive gamer from my friends, there are sometimes that i just wish i could take some anger on bungie for happenings that should not happen within their game. While me and some of my friends agree that the halo series is truly a juggernaut that rips apart nintendo and playstation consoles, we have all had those experiences where the game is just decidedly against us in everything we do. Therefore, tomorrow i shall enter the playlist with hopes of vengeance for all of the horrible times shared through halo 3. I do not expect to win, i don't care if i get recon if i win, all i want is to kill them repeatedly in their own game. While all that is said and done, I really look forward to Halo3: ODST and am EXTREMELY ECSTATIC towards Halo: Reach. For all those who are going head to head with bungie, i wish u good luck and have fun.

New Deck: Progenerator

Building it was difficult as i thought. Main difficulty about building this deck though was the frustration of looking for cards that i need that i know i have but never found. Specifically speaking would be Fierce Empath and Rampant Growth. WTF did they go?

By the way, since it might be hard to tell what the deck is based around from the title...
THE ALMIGHTY PROGENITUS!!!

The Beginning (again)

Welcome bloggers and friends to this brand new blog! I have already done this speech once, but having forgotten to save it and trying to preview, it got lost in there somewhere. So i'm too lazy to remember everything of my first first post, all of it fascinating. I will post occasionally about the wonderful subjects and hobbies that create my span of attention. And remember that while i am a master of suspense, i also...
